Hello friends interested in Working Equitation (new discipline),
This past fall, Riders Elite Academy made all the obstacles for Working Equitation – Ease of Handling. This winter I am out on the West Coast attending many Working Equitation training opportunities.
I would like to share some training tips you can practice at home to prepare you and your horse for a Working Equitation clinic I will be hosting this spring in Minnesota.
Set up 2 cones and practice halting with your horse’s shoulder next to the cones (many obstacles in ease of handling require a short pause or stop before completing them)
Turn on the haunches (the livestock pen requires that once you have gone in one direction you exit and do a turn on the haunches or pirouette to change directions)
Set up poles for a back through the “L” (walk through the L, stop and pause then back out)
Great for Winter Training! These video lessons that helps you practice at home. I would appreciate if you use my affiliate link below. It costs $40.00 which is less than most lessons and you can do this at home while the snow and wind blow.
Online Educational Guidance through our partnership with Working Equitation Simplified (offering a series of ‘training stations’ perfect for winter riding sessions with limited space available). And FREE access to the first station so you can see what the program offers and decide if it might be right for you!
Students learning and having fun! Can you ride by the BULL?
